Müller cloth factory, Euskirchen, Germany

August 2000

Closed in the early 1960's, the whole factory had been left completely untouched until it was re-opened as a museum, in 2000.
This place is an industrial conservationist's dream come true. Most of the machinery dates from the 1920's. The steam engine and a few other things are even older.

By 1961, the factory was no longer profitable but the owner, Herr Müller, was sure there'd be better times ahead. So, he sent his workers home, locked the place up, and waited for things to change - until he died a few years ago.
